FRIDAY is TIE DAY: February 4, 2011

Hello Tie Day followers! TIE DAY is busy all weekend with the shoot for our new short, which would explain the lateness of this post.

Yesterday we shot from 10am to 10pm in two locations, Astoria Park and in an apartment in Astoria. Today we resume shooting and will finish tomorrow hopefully in time for the super bowl!

Follow our twitter feed for updates, and be sure to check in next week with any new updates! - Tie Day.

FRIDAY is TIE DAY: January 28, 2011

FRIDAY is upon us, and so, therefore, is a TIE DAY update.

Lots of exciting news in the film department. We can confirm the shoot of our new short, tentatively titled HOME, for next weekend.

HOME is a psychological thriller/domestic horror film. It details the relationship between three people on one cold evening. It will star Ben Thomas, CJ Lewis, and, newly added to the cast, miss Harmony Stempel. The film is written, produced, and directed by Liam Billingham. The cinematography is by Jun Igarashi, sound/music by Nick Nelson, Art Direction by Aria Chiodo, as well as support by other fine film artists.

The film will be shot over the course of next weekend, and is somewhat of the final film in a thematic trilogy that started with OVERHEAD and continued on with DISPLAY. We're deep into pre-production, and very excited to get started.

Also, last weekend we had a chance to shoot a new video with Kotchy and Jared Mezzocchi for Kotchy's new album TWO. It as exciting and innovative as the last one, and we can't wait to show it to you!

We hope you have a nice weekend, and we'll see you soon. Be sure to keep checking the site and our twitter feed for updates!

FRIDAY is TIE DAY: January 14, 2011

Hello all fans of TIE DAY!

We've got a very exciting development to tell you about today. We're announcing the beginning of pre-production on our new short film, which we will shoot in early February. It is a 'domestic horror/thriller' film whose plot we intend to keep secret, lest we ruin the surprise!

It is the final film in a series that started with OVERHEAD and our Big Apple Film Fest entry DISPLAY, and will be written and directed (as well as produced) by yours truly. It will feature Ben Thomas, Sarah Painter (previously seen in DISPLAY), and CJ Lewis (whom you may remember from our original web series BECKET LOGAN).

The film will be shot by DP JUN IGARASHI, and scored/sound designed by NICK NELSON. Jun and I will be doing the editing.

Right now there's a lot of talk and planning going on, and we'll be back with more details, along with announcements of new projects, in the coming weeks! Thanks a lot, and keep reading!

FRIDAY is TIE DAY: December 17, 2010

FRIDAY is TIE DAY, and we're back with another update! You may have seen our promotional video for COHStyled, but if you haven't, take a look HERE. It was a great project to work on, and we're glad everyone is thrilled with result! Feedback has been excellent.

We're also very excited to show everyone our promo we did for the Public Theater's Holiday Party this year. It was shot, edited, and online in less than 12 hours, and features old friend (and one of the original founders of Tie Day Pictures) Kevin Condardo. Watch it HERE.

Things will be slowing down for Tie Day for the next few weeks, as the holiday season is in full gear. But please enjoy our content here and on VIMEO. We also uploaded a neat little short film called AFTER DINNER, which was shot and edited in about an hour a few months ago. It was a completely unplanned little exercise. Enjoy!

If you aren't following us on TWITTER, you can do so HERE. We post updates frequently.

We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing holiday season and New Year! See you in 2011!

We're also right now editing SULTAN STOVER's short OVER BEFORE IT BEGAN, which is a great short we hope to have to you soon!

FRIDAY is TIE DAY: November 12,2010

This week is a busy one for Tie Day Media. We began the week with a fashion video, which is currently in the editing phases, and tomorrow we begin production on Sultan Stover's OVER BEFORE IT BEGAN. I have been functioning as producer on the 12 minute short, and Jun is the Cinematographer. We've brought on Composer/Recorder Nick Nelson as our sound guy. Sultan will round out production as director of his own script. Production begins tomorrow in Brooklyn, and will continue through Sunday. It's a tight schedule and involves lots of different elements coming together. So far things have gone smoothly. We're very excited for production!

Last week was the premiere of our film Display at the Big Apple Film Festival. It was an amazing experience, and highly recommended for all independent filmmakers. We met some amazing people, and the people at BAFF really took care of us. DIsplay premiered to a packed house and was very well recieved. Now the film is available online. Watch it HERE.

The video for Kotchy's Sometimes I Get Down , which Jun and I shot, is doing extremely well. We are within inches of hitting 20,000 hits, which is really exciting. Check it out!

Back next week with the latest updates and reminders.

Have a nice week!
